Obituary

Meredith-Robert John Baillargeon, 58, of Emily Circle formerly of Colmar Court in Gilford, died Friday afternoon, March 2, 2007 at Exeter Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Bob was the son of the late Delphis and Alexandrine (Duval) Baillargeon. He was born in Laconia on June 28, 1948 and had been a resident of the Lakes Region for most his life, with several years living in the Concord, NH area.

Prior to his retirement in 2000, Bob was employed by Oakhurst Dairy as a Key Account Manager. He also worked for Crowley Foods, Inc.-Weeks Division as the Director of Sales. He was hired in 1971 as a Sales Representative for the former Weeks Dairy Foods, Inc., and promoted to Sales Manager in 1977. While attending college Bob also worked for Weeks Dairy Foods, Inc. making route deliveries.

Bob was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in 1966 where he was Class President. He then graduated from St. Michael’s College in Winooski, VT earning a B.A. in Economics and Business in 1970.

Bob was on the Board of Directors of the New Hampshire Retail Grocers Association. He was a member of the Concord Jaycees, the Bow Men’s Club, the Bow Athletic Club where he coached soccer and baseball, and instructed aerobics for the Bow Aerobics group. In 1988 he received an award for dedicated service from the New Hampshire Retail Grocers Association, and in 1989 he received the President’s Circle Award from Crowley Foods, Inc. As an enthusiastic runner, Bob also ran a marathon in Plattsburg, NY.

Many of Bob’s interests were sailing, golf, tennis, bicycling, running, hiking, kayaking and taking ocean kayaking lessons, and cross country skiing. His greatest joy was spotting a loon while kayaking on Lake Winnipesaukee.

Bob is survived by his wife of 36 years, Elaine (Ladieu) Baillargeon of Meredith; one son, Jeffrey C. Baillargeon and his wife Karly of Laguna Niguel, CA; three brothers, Gaitan Baillargeon and his wife Ann of Sanbornton, Gilles Baillargeon and his wife Linda of Punta Gorda, FL, and Roger Baillargeon and his wife Gayle of Somersworth; six sisters, Noel Sinsabaugh and her husband Don of Kennebunk, ME, Jenny Iverson and her husband George of Hampton, Theresa Kimball and her husband Roland of Gilford, Jeanne Glauser of St. Petersburg, FL, Pauline Weeks and her husband Steve of Laconia, and Fran Baillargeon of Windermere, FL; one granddaughter, Ella Baillargeon of Laguna Niguel, CA. Many many nieces and nephews also survive Bob.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday March 7, 2007 at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Gary J. Kosmowski pastor of the church celebrated the mass. Entombment followed in Sacred Heart Cemetery Chapel, Garfield Street, Laconia to await spring burial in the family lot. Visiting hours were on Tuesday March 6, 2007 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Simoneau-Paquette Memorial Home, 139 Church Street, Laconia. Family and friends were invited to attend.
