Obituary

LAWRENCE E. NOLAN, a Hingham resident for many years, died on Thursday, March 1st at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. He was 75. Mr. Nolan was born in Boston and was educated in Boston and Quincy. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War and was a Purple Heart recipient. Following his military service, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service in So. Boston and then for 20 years in the maintainance department of the Metropolitan District Commission in Hull. He retired several years ago.

Husband of the late Anne M. (Callahan) Nolan, he leaves his two sisters; Margaret I. Barresi and Phyllis M. Schuerch. He was the Brother in Law of Pauline F. Butler and Eleanor C. Berry both of Hingham and Bernadette Lennox of Halifax. He was the uncle of Patty Nolan of California. Also survived by several additional nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late James P. Nolan.

A Prayer Service will be conducted on Monday, March 5th at 11 AM at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham.

Friends may visit at the Downing Chapel prior to the service from 10 - 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.

The interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Hingham.
