James J. Pignone,Jr. of Somerville died suddenly, Saturday, at Mt. Auburn Hospital, Cambridge. He was 79.
Mr. Pignone was born in Medford yet lived most of his life in Somerville. He was the son of the late James J. and the late Susan (Capua) Pignone. He served in the Army During World War II in the Pacific theatre.
Mr. Pignone worked as a tailor and was past president of the local Amalgamated Clothing Union.James was also a member of the Medford VFW and Sons of Italy.
Beloved husband of the late Yolanda (Grieco). Devoted father of James of Derry, NH, Robert of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Gayle Conroy of Windham, NH. Loving grandfather of Nicholas, Janelle, Brittany, and Tyler. Brother of Joseph Pine of FL, Dolores Peck and Richard Pignone both of CA.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Wednesday at 9AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Polycarp Church, 100 Temple Street, Somerville, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Visiting hours Tuesday 4 thru 8.
Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
