Obituary

AUBURN,____Geraldine A. (Murphy) Vaugh, 84, of the Life Care Center of Auburn, 14 Masonic Circle, formerly of 15 Huckleberry Lane, Hampton, New Hampshire, died Sunday February 25 in the care center. Her husband of 57 years, Albert E. Vaugh died in 2004.

She leaves a daughter, Sandra A. Palumbo and her husband Pasquale of Dudley; two grandchildren, Joy F. Durand and her husband Daniel of Pomfret, CT, and Erica T. Benway of Charlton; and one great-grandson Harrison Robert Durand of Pomfret, CT. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Jeremiah J. and Theresa B. (Fahey) Murphy and lived many years in Worcester. She then resided in Hampton for 30 years before coming to Auburn in 2004.

Mrs. Vaugh was a licensed practical nurse and worked several years for the former Lincoln Nursing Home in Worcester. She was a U.S. Army Nursing Corps veteran of World War II. Mrs. Vaugh was graduated from North High School in Worcester, Our Lady of the Elms College and St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing.

She was a former member of Our Lady of the Angels Church in Worcester and the Exeter Country Club in New Hampshire. Geraldine loved the beach, gardens and bird watching.

Funeral services and burial will be private. DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, Worcester is directing service arrangements.
