Obituary

Ocie Thomas "O.T." Pippin, 85, of Chula died Tuesday, February 27, 2007, at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2007, in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Brent Duncan, Th.D., will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Donald Pippin, Randy Fincham, Timothy Fincham, Kevin Gibbs, Steve Moore, Wayne Newton and Eddie Smith will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 28, 2007, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mr. Pippin was born on May 9, 1921 in Tift County and was the son of William Bailey Pippin and Alice Whittington Pippin, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Ann Fincham; and one granddaughter, Kerri Gibbs. He was a retired farmer and a member of the First Baptist Church in Chula. He had lived in Tift County all of his life.

Mr. Pippin is surved by his wife of 65 years, Sara Frances Smith Pippin of Chula; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Tommy and Nickie Pippin of Flowery Branch, Robert and JoAnne Pippin of Chula, and Mike Pippin of Chula; one daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Craig Seagroves of Fitzgerald; one sister, Ella Mae Powers of Adel; eleven grandchildren, Robin Newton, Randy Fincham, Lisa Haynes, Timothy Fincham, Christina Wilkerson, Donald Pippin, Donna Moore, Jennifer Pippin, Becky Pippin Mullis, Kevin Gibbs and Erica Pippin; 14 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
