WORCESTER____Regina A. (Kowal) Vargalis, 84, formerly of 73 Cambridge St., died Saturday October 26 in University Commons Nursing Center, 378 Plantation St.
Her husband, Stephen J. Vargalis died in 1987.
She leaves a sister-in-law, Helen St. Armand of Worcester; five nephews and nieces and grand nephews and grand nieces. She was predeceased by a brother, Walter Kowal and three sisters, Mary Kowal, Josephine Golaski and Sr. M. Patricia Kowal of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Andrew and Josephine (Pizan) Kowal and lived her all her life.
Mrs. Vargalis worked in the dietary department of Worceste State Hospital for 22 years before retiring in 1980.She was graduated from Commerce High School.Mrs. Vargalis was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday October 30, from Henry-Dirsa Funeral Home, 33 Ward St.,with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
