James "Jim" Edgar Norman, 70, of Tifton, died Sunday, February 25, 2007, at his daughter's residence in Leesburg. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2007, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Martin J. Norman, Danny Norman, Ricky Norman, Joshua Brown, Clint Brown and Kenny Eaton, who are all grandsons, will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 27, 2007, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The families are at the homes of Joe and Deborah Salter in Leesburg and Frances Norman on Lenox Brookfield Road in Tifton.
Mr. Norman was born on December 21, 1936 in Tift County and was the son of J. T. Norman, Sr. and Alberta Thrift Norman, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one son, Tony Norman, who died in 1992; one brother, William G. "Billy" Norman; and one sister, Laverne N. Welch. He was a salesman at Short & Paulk Hardware and a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was of the Hardshell Baptist faith.
Mr. Norman is survived by his wife, Frances Paul Norman of Tifton; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jerry and Angela Norman of Sylvester and Chad Norman of Jupiter, Florida; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shelley and Larry Aultman of Tallahassee, Florida and Deborah and Joe Salter of Leesburg; two step-daughters and one step son-in-law, Donna and Carl Griffin of Vienna and Connie Eaton of Brookfield; one brother, J. T. Norman, Jr. of Bath, South Carolina; one brother-in-law, Robert W. Welch of West Berrien Community; 18 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
