SUTTON___Joseph J. Kasabula, 88, of Sutton died Friday February 23, 2007 in The Meadows of Leicester. His wife of 64 years, Rose S. (Baronowski) Kasabula died in 2005.
He leaves two sons, Paul J. Kasabula of Millbury and Thomas J. Kasabula of Sutton; two daughters, Rosalie Lafrance and Marie C. Morton, both of Sutton; two sisters, Albina Zukowski of Charlton and Barbara Novak of Ohio; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great great-granddaughter and nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a brother, Henry Kasabula and four sisters, Agnes Zinkus, Theresa Grynciewicz, Anna Roberts and Jane Budrejko. He was born in Worcester, a son of Peter and Aleksandra (Sokol) Kasabula and has lived in Sutton for 56 years.
Mr. Kasabula was a licensed master electrician and a 50 year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, local 93. He worked for Data General Corp. for 5 years and retired in 1983. Before then he worked for more than 35 years for Coghlin Electric Co. Joseph graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School and attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute for several advanced courses.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the Asiatic Pacific theater. He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church in Worcester and was a former member of the Polish American Veterans of World War II.
The funeral will be held on Thursday March 1 from HENRY – DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, Worcester with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours in the funeral home are Wednesday February 28 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Members of Polish American Veterans of World War II will meet at 7:30 p.m. during calling hours to conduct their ritual.
