REHOBOTH - Gina (Moniz) Almeida, 37, of 565 Lawton St., Fall River, died Wednesday February 21, 2007, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Rehoboth. She was the fiancé of Tafa Awolaju of Riverside, RI. Besides her mother of Fall River and her fiancé of Riverside, she is survived by One Daughter: Jaimie Almeida of Fall River, MA; Two Brothers: Mario J. Moniz & Louis M. Moniz both of Fall River, MA; Two Sisters: Grace Paquette & Cindy A. Moniz both of Fall River, MA; One Half-Sister: Suzy M. Moniz of New Bedford, MA; and Several nieces and nephews.
Born in Ribeira Grande, Sao Miguel, Azores, she was the daughter of Delta(Menezes) Moniz and the late Mariano R. Moniz. She was a life long resident of Fall River and a 1987 graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School. She had earned her Associates Degree in Business Administration from Bristol Community College and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Bryant University. She had worked as a Student Accounts Coordinator in the Student Accounts Department at Bristol Community College and a Tax Preparer at H & R Block for at least 15 years. She was also the Treasurer for the Coalition of Physically & Mentally Challenged Children. She was a member of SS Peter & Paul Parish at Holy Cross Church.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 No. Main St. on Wednesday at 8:45 A.M. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in SS Peter & Paul Parish at Holy Cross Church, Pulaski St. at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling Hours on Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M.
