Obituary

Gerard Trottier, 86, of Derry, NH, died Friday, February 23, 2007 at his home. Mr. Trottier was born in Montreal, Province of Quebec, Canada on October 25, 1920, a son of the late Odilon and Amanda (Vaillent) Trottier. He was a resident of Derry for 22 years, formerly living in Cambridge, MA for over 35 years. He worked for the Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown, MA for 25 years. Mr. Trottier was a Communicant of Holy Cross Church, Derry, a member of Senior Friends of Derry and the Massabesic Senior Citizen Association. He enjoyed puttering around the house, playing cards and visiting his family in Canada. Gerard will be remembered for his kind spirit and positive outlook on life.

He is survived by a daughter, AnneMarie Voutour and her husband Rick of Derry, three grandchildren, Michelle Voutour of Nashua, NH, Melissa Voutour of Chicopee, MA, Marianne Voutour of Odenton, MD and also by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Florida (Cyr) Trottier in 2001.

Visiting hours were 4-8pm, Monday, February 26, 2007 in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 10:00am Tuesday, February 27th in Holy Cross Church, 187 Hampstead Rd., Derry. The burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Derry. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Holy Cross Church, 187 Hampstead Rd., Derry, NH 03038 or to the charity of your choice.
