Mary G. Young, 75, of Chester, NH, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 22, 2007, at her home in Chester, after a long illness.
Mrs. Young was born Mary Grace Smith on December 9th, 1931, the daughter of Roscoe and Mildred Smith of Londonderry, NH. She is pre-deceased by her parents, a twin sister, Jean Smith Aslanian of Concord and a brother Warren Smith of Goffstown.
Raised in Londonderry, Mrs. Young would go on to raise her own family for many years as a resident of Derry, finally retiring with her husband to Chester where they lived for eighteen years. While in Derry she worked for many years at the H.E. Harris Stamp Company, Hadco and Treasure Masters companies. A lifelong diehard Red Sox fan, Mary loved fried shrimp from Newicks, the slot machines at Mohegan Sun, but above all cherished her friends and family. She was truly loved and will be greatly missed.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Frank N. Young of Chester, son Steven Young of Paso Robles, California, daughters Susan Young of Sarasota, Florida and Kathryn Young of Chester. Other family members include grandchildren Angela, Ian, Dena and Sarah, great-grandchildren Anthony, Britny and Travis, many nieces and nephews and several cousins.
At her request no formal services will be conducted. Interment will be in Chester at the Great Hill Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Chester Volunteer Fire Department, 27 Murphy Drive, Chester, NH 03036.
