Kinsman - Franklin of Rockland, formerly of Dorchester, born and raised in West Roxbury. Passed away unexpectedly on February 17, 2007. Beloved son of the late William and Georgia Kinsman (Gutterson), brother of the late George Kinsman, loving husband of the late Sarah M. Kinsman. Devoted friend for the past 24 years to Patricia Cawley. Dedicated and loving father of James Coar, Penelope Lucas, Francine Kinsman and the late Marlon Roach; father-in-law to Wilfred D. Lucas and Tanya Y. Roach. He leaves his grandchildren, Keyette Bennett, Edwin A. Lawrence, Edwin’s wife, Hazel Lawrence, Lauren and Nicholas Roach, Sydney A. Kinsman-Nesmith, and great-grandchildren Alaysha and Leanna Lawrence. Franklin also leaves his dear friends the Coulstring and Chesser families, and his best friend Murphy. Frank, as he was so fondly called, proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He spoke fluent Chinese, volunteering his translation services whenever needed. Frank retired from Con-Rail Railroad and went on to work at Metropolitan Petroleum and Trimont Asphalt. Frank was also co-owner of Rocco & Co. Trucking in Saugus. Frank was an avid fisherman, and during his retirement spent a great deal of time on his boat fishing off the coast of New Hampshire. He also enjoyed playing golf, dining-out, and day trips to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. In more recent years his favorite pastime was regularly attending the soccer and basketball games of his granddaughter Sydney and being a constant presence at the games of his favorite hockey team, the Baystate Breakers of Rockland. Services will be held at the Bourne National Cemetery in Bourne on Friday, February 23 at 1:30 p.m. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
