WORCESTER-Mary V. (Verbonick) Allinson, 88 of 1199 Main Street died Saturday, October 26th in UMass Memorial Healthcare-Memorial Campus after an illness. Her husband, Ralph T. Allinson died in 1969. She leaves a son Ralph “Randy” T. Allinson of Chester, CT; a daughter, Donna A. Church of Worcester; 3 sisters, Rose Millman of Wethersfield, CT, Margaret Hughes of Norwalk, CT and Alice Jobson of Simsbury, CT; 3 grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 2 brothers, Stephen and Peter Verbonick and 3 sisters, Ann Ifkovic, Catherine Koulik and Julia Verbonick all predeceased her.
She was born in Hartford, CT the daughter of Michael and Agnes (Ivok) Verbonick and lived in Hartford and Elmwood, CT before moving to Worcester 4 years ago. Mrs. Allinson was a bookkeeper for 13 years at Aetna Insurance Company in Hartford, CT retiring in 1978. Previously, she worked at G. Fox Company in Hartford, CT. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church and was a former member of St. Brigid’s Church in Elmwood, CT and it’s women’s guild. She also volunteered at the Elmwood Senior Center.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 29th at noon in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. After cremation burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue is directing arrangements.
