Dr. Donna Jean Kennedy-Jones, 59, of Canby, California (formerly of Fitzgerald) died Saturday, February 17 in Redding California.
Memorial services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, March 3 at the Gathering Place of the Bowen’s Mill Christian Community. Visitation will be held from 7 until 9, Friday evening, March 2 at the Paulk Funeral Home in Fitzgerald.
She was born June 30, 1947 to Evelyn Boggus Kennedy of Fitzgerald and the late Robert Lee Kennedy. Dr. Kennedy-Jones lived in California for the past six years, where she was a Physician at Canby Family Practice Clinic. She graduated from Fitzgerald High School in 1965, from the Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Atlanta and LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. Dr. Jones was Board Certified in Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine. She was former Clinical Director of the Dorminy Medical Center Emergency Room, former Physician at Satilla Regional Medical Center, Bleckley Memorial Hospital, Coffee Regional Medical Center, Memorial Medical Center, New Orleans, LA and was in private practice in Pediatrics here in Fitzgerald. Dr. Kennedy-Jones was a member of the Georgia Medical Association.
Along with her mother, she is survived by a daughter and son, Abigail Jones and Gabriel Jones, both of Canby, CA; sister, Debbie Polhamus of Fitzgerald; stepdaughter, Angela Grantham of Jacksonville, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie N. Jones and a sister, Karen Kennedy Wynn.
