Obituary

Mr. Alfred Richard Frank, 71, passed away on Monday in the DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, AL, where he left some lasting memories and bonded with many who cared for him.

Richard grew up in Miami, Florida. In 1955 he enlisted in the United States Army where he completed his college education (Columbia College) and served in Germany, Viet Nam and other areas. He was especially proud of his leadership roles in the army and his mission in the intelligence field. He was also a member of First Missionary Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish the memories of the times he shared with them, his wife, Miriam; sons, Manuel, Richard and Jim Paul Frank; his daughter, Juliane Hartley; stepsons, Michael and Rev. Aaron Johnson; stepdaughter TaMiria, affectionately known as Tam; sister, Ann Frank Greenside and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Frank will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday from the First Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Julius R. Scruggs officiating. Interment will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens with Nelms Memorial Funeral Home handling the services. The Frank family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday from the funeral home. The remains of Mr. Frank will be placed in the church one hour prior to funeral time.
