Elizabeth P. (Pellegrino) Orlando, a long-time Medford resident, died Monday at the Beaumont Nursing Home, Natick. She was 85.
A Medford resident for well over 75 years, Elizabeth was born and raised in Medford, the daughter of the late John and the late Pauline (Faga) Pellegrino. Early in life, Elizabeth worked with her family in their West Medford business. After raising her daughters she went to work with Sears – Roebuck Co. and supervised the catalogue service for the northeast United States. She later went on to work with Fiserv in Somerville in their check processing division. She retired when she was 82 ½ years old.
She was the beloved wife of the late Benedict A. Orlando. She was a devoted mother to Elizabeth Bonomi of Brighton, Denise Orecchio and her husband Louis of Woburn. She was a loving grandmother to Nancy Eldridge, David Bonomi and Alison Orecchio. She was a loving great-grandmother to Matthew and Lauren Eldridge, Alexandra and Isabella Bonomi. She was the dear sister of Angela Bursey, Frank Pellegrino, Eleanor Cook, Mary Manning, Pauline Fontas, Jeanette Angrisano, John Pellegrino, Virginia Burnett the late Victoria O’Connell and Esther Cammarata.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
