Obituary

Anthony J. “Tony” Malzone, of Milford, DE, formerly of Medford, MA died Tuesday in the Massachusetts General Hospital Boston. He was 63Born in Boston, he was the son of the late John and the late Jennie (Iorio) Malzone.

Tony graduated Boston College High School in 1956 and then enlisted in the Navy, serving four years. Upon his return, Anthony attended the Florence UTT School of Automation. For many years Tony worked as the business office manager and head of data processing at Milford Memorial Hospital in Delaware. He recently retired after working as a custodian at Delaware Technical College.

He was a long-time dedicated volunteer at Casa San Francisco, a crisis center in Milton, DE and was involved there from the center’s beginning. Anthony was also elected for two terms to the Parish Council of St. John the Apostle Church in Milford. There too he was an active volunteer.

Among his other interests was jazz music, for which he had a great love.

He is survived by his wife Karen (Jodoin). He leaves three daughters, Terese Reimenschneider and her husband Gerald of PA, Kim Alomari of MO, and Jennifer Malzone of OH. Anthony leaves five grand children: Ian, Alyssa, Soraqah, Sumayyah and Jeremy. He was the brother of Connie Ahlschier of NC, Catherine Ferrante of East Weymouth, Lucy Malzone of Medford, and Mary DeMelim of RI. He also leaves his aunt Virginia Lothrop of Medford 13 nieces and nephews, and 14 great nieces and nephews.His funeral will mass will be celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 514 High Street, Medford Monday at 10AM. The interment will be private. Friends may call Sunday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be sent to the Boston Catholic TV Center, 55 Chapel St., P.O. Box 9109, Newtonville, MA 02460.
