Obituary

HAIG PERSHING NEAL, 89, of Hull, died on Friday, Feb. 16th at his home. Mr. Neal was born in Hull and was a lifelong resident of the town. He graduated from Hingham High School and served with the United States Army for 5 years during World War II. For many years he and his partner, Robert McNamara, also of Hull, owned and operated two service stations in town. In recent years he worked for the Stop & Shop Supermarket in Hingham. Mr. Neal was devoted to the Town of Hull and was an avid Red Sox fan.

Mr. Neal was the son of the late Frederic C. and the late Gertrude E. (Knight) Neal. He was the uncle of General Richard I. Neal, USMC (Ret) of Washington, DC, Nancy Hashey of Tampa, FL, Pamela Neal of Cookeville, TN, Robert A. Neal of Hull and the late Rojean Booker. Mr. Neal was predeceased by his four brothers; Frederic S., Robert B., Ross K. and John C. Neal.

A Graveside Service will be conducted on Thursday, Feb. 22nd at 11 AM at the Hull Village Cemetery, Nantasket Ave., Hull. Visiting hours and flowers are omitted by request.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Hull Public Library, Main St., Hull, MA 02045.
