Flynn, Noreen P. Burgess, Jane M. Kearns and the late Patrick M. Flynn, uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Saturday at 10am. Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, West Bridgewater at 11am. Visiting hours Friday 4-8pm. Obituary Information
Daniel J. “Gap” Flynn died Wednesday evening at his home surrounded by his family after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born and raised in Brockton, he was the son of John T. and N. Patricia Flynn. He attended Brockton schools and was a graduate of Cardinal Spellman High School, class of 1977. Dan was a self employed carpenter/tradesman who held a Construction Supervisors License, and worked in the New England area until his illness. He was an accomplished musician who was a member of the bands Shape and Sunspot, an avid reader of classic novels and poems and was working on a collection of blue collar poetry for publication and was a published poet of the International Society of Poets. He also enjoyed playing guitar, fishing, boating, loved folk and country music and enjoyed time at the beach, especially in Eastham, Cape Cod.
He is survived by his former wife and lifelong friend Marybeth “Chickie” (Newton) Flynn a daughter Krista Lee Flynn, a son John T. Flynn II; stepdaughter Colleen M. Hall and two stepsons Aaron and Derek Flynn; his parents John T. and N. Patricia Flynn; his brothers and sisters John H., Mary Ellen, Brendan D., Stephen F., Joseph D. and Arthur J. Flynn, Noreen P. Burgess, Jane M. Kearns, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was the brother of the late Patrick M. Flynn.
