Wallace Tucker, 78, of Tifton, died Wednesday, February 14, 2007, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2007, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Elder Lee Chambers, Pastor Stephen Tucker and Rev. Bobby Rodgers will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Keith Fraser, Gary Tucker, Tommy Tucker, Kenny Tucker, Ben Tucker, Edwin Tucker and Ricky Tucker will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 16, 2007, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Tucker was born on November 17, 1928 in Irwin County and was the son of Shelby Tucker and Omie L. Mixon Tucker, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Irvin Tucker; and one sister, Dorothy Milam. He was a retired tile setter and a member of Tifton Primitive Baptist Church. He had lived in Tift County for 46 years.
Mr. Tucker is survived by his wife, Barbara Cooper Tucker of Tifton; one son, Wallace Hilton Tucker of Tifton; one brother, Alfred "Bud" Tucker of Enigma; three sisters, Estelle Milam of Citra, Florida, Lucille Fraser of Brooks County and Betty Jean Frisoli of Newville, Alabama; one granddaughter, Jennifer Tucker Lasseter and her husband, Kevin; and two great grandchildren, Tyler and Tyson Lasseter.
