Maria C. Ventura, 85, of Derry, NH, died Saturday, February 10, 2007 in the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry. Mrs. Ventura was born in Pico de Pedra, Sao Miguel, Azores on December 14, 1921, a daughter of the late Manuel C. and Maria (da Cruz) Barbosa. She was a resident of Derry for the past five years, formerly living in Brockton, MA.
She is survived by her husband, William S. Ventura of Derry; two sons, John Carreiro of Stoneham, MA and Joseph Carreiro of Everett, MA; one daughter, Maria Gomes of Albany, NY; two step sons, William N. Ventura of Derry and William S. Ventura of Las Vegas, NV; three step daughters, Darlene Hogan of Florida, Ginger Hogan of Brockton, and Marilyn also of Brockton; six grandchildren, eight step grandchildren, several great grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Friends called on Tuesday, February 13th from 9 - 10:00am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services followed at 10:00am in the funeral home. The burial was in the Cedar Knoll Cemetery in Taunton, MA.
