William A. Murray Jr., 73 of Medford formerly of Allston died Sunday in the St. Elizebeth Medical Center Boston, after a brief illness.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late William and Gladys (Wilcox) Murray Sr.
Mr. Murray was a retired Letter Carrier in the Newton Center area for 17 years and retired in 1983. William was a 20 year veteran in the U.S. Army and served during the Korea and Vietnam Wars and retired as a Staff Sgt. He served during 1947 thru 1967.
Beloved husband of Virginia G. (Dell’Elce) Grinley. Devoted father of Joseph Grinley and his wife Kathleen of North Tewksbury, Daniel Grinley and his wife Kathy of Goffstown, NH, Robert Grinley of Medford, Leslie Dell'Elce-Grinley and her husband Stephane Boisset of Cambridge. Survived by 6 loving grandchildren. Brother of James and Thomas Murray both of South Carolina, Paul Murray of Florida. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Thursday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Visiting hours Wednesday 4 thru 8.
Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
