Mary A.Knowlton, 96, of Maplecrest Drive in Smithfield, formerly of Columbine Avenue in Pawtucket died Monday at Hebert’s Nursing Home in Smithfield.
Born in Bellows Falls, Vermont, a daughter of the late Charles and Marcella (Zambrowski) Wollen. She had lived in Pawtucket before moving to
Smithfield.Mrs. Knowlton had worked in Pawtucket Textile Mills as a weaver. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Pawtucket, the Sacred Heart Society and St. Leo’s Women’s Club.
She is survived by her daughters, Ruth E. Mansi of Greenville and Lois E. Knowlton of Pawtucket; her grandchildren, Frank A. and Jeffrey D. Mansi, Kristina and her husband, Peter Michelli, Maria Camara and Erich Medenbach; two great grandchildren; a brother, Reverend Fr. Charles Wollen and two sisters, Ann Westbrook of Key West, FL and Augustine McNearney of Hampton, NH. She was the mother in law of the late Frank A. Mansi who died this past July and sister of the late Joseph, John and James Wollen, Stella Gannites and Josephine Babiarz.
