Obituary

WORCESTER-William H. Kennedy, Jr., 81 of 24 Waconah Road, and West Palm Beach died Sunday, October 20th in Notre Dame Long Term Care Center. His wife Sally (McCann) Kennedy died in 1978. He leaves 4 daughters; Clare K. wife of P. Kevin Condron of Worcester, Elizabeth K. wife of Robert D. Blute, Jr., M.D. of Northboro, Christine M. and Paula B. Kennedy both of Worcester, a brother Walter C. Kennedy of Clearwater, FL and Worcester, 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons, many nephews and nieces. 2 sisters Elizabeth K. Delude and Carolyn M. Kennedy predeceased him.

He was born in Worcester the son William H. and Mary (Coonan) Kennedy. He was a graduate of Worcester Public Schools and St. Anselm College. He was a World War 2 Army Veteran, and was awarded the Purple Heart. Mr. Kennedy had been treasurer for the Standard Yarn Company from 1950 until 1971, served as president of Central Supply Company from 1971 until 1984, then served as chairman of Central Supply from 1984 until present. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish, New England Wholesalers Association, Worcester Country Club, Bear Lake Country Club, the Palm Beach Yacht Club, and was a former member of the Worcester Club.

The funeral will be Wednesday, October 23rd, from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Immaculate Conception Church, 351 Grove Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, October 22nd, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
