Francis “Frank” Auretta, age 72 of Mystic died on Saturday at his home.
Mr. Auretta was born in Hartford on October 1, 1930 the son of Carmelo and Anna Auretta. He served four years in the USAF stationed at RAF Fairford, Gloucestershire, England, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He worked at Gerber Scient ific as the Mational Manager of Field Service Engineering including responsibilities in Europe and Asia. He retired after 25 years of service from Gerber.
Mr. Auretta is survived by his wife Mavis (Soanes) Auretta , two daughters Janice Auretta of Mystic and Diane Auretta of Haddam Neck, a son Michael F. Auretta and His wife Susan of Guilford, a grandson Matthew of Guilford and a granddaughter, Corinne Taylor of Yuma AZ. A sister, Josephine Haynes of Windsor, a brother Salvatore Auretta of West Hartford. Hew was predeceased by a brother, Carmen Auretta and a sister Ann Macaluso.
The family will greet relative sand friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Thursday from 5-8pm. A Funeral Eucharist will be celebrated at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church on Friday at 12noon.
