Exilda H. (Harper) Auger, 93, a lifelong resident of Brockton, died Wednesday, February 7, at the West Acres Nursing Home in Brockton. She was the wife of the late Ernest E. Auger. Born in Brockton, she was a graduate of Sacred Heart and Brockton Schools. Mrs. Auger worked as a hairdresser and was the shop owner of Exilda’s Beauty Shop in Brockton for several years. She also worked at Beatrice’s Beauty Salon. She retired many years ago. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Ned Auger and James Auger both of Brockton, John Auger of FL and Kerin Smolensky of PA. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren and her daughter in law Sheila Auger of Brockton. In additon to her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Ernest E. Auger Jr., and her siblings Beatrice Baronowsky, Arthur Harper and Anna Allard.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, February 10, at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Brockton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours prior to Mass from 8:30-9:30 AM. Burial will follow at Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
