Robert F. O'Brien, 54, of Cocoa Beach, Florida, died unexpectedly Tuesday, February 6, 2007.
Born in Providence, a beloved son of William H. and Patricia D. (Magers) O’Brien of Johnston, he lived in Florida for five years.
Mr. O’Brien worked with various artists including Joe Cocker, Tina Turner and Meatloaf, coordinating events on their worldwide tours. He began his career in Barrington by establishing a teen dance club. Later, he managed JR’s Fast Lane in Providence.
He is also survived by his brothers, William J. O’Brien of Tustin, CA, John H. O’Brien of North Kingstown and Stephen P. O’Brien of Warwick, a sister, Patricia A. Spelman of Rehoboth, MA; five nieces and four nephews.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 8 am from the *ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Visitation Friday 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Robert Bellarmine Food Bank, 1804 Atwood Avenue, Johnston, RI 02919.
