Obituary

New Bedford - Robert A. Aubut, 66, of N. Dartmouth passed away Monday, February 5, 2007 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Kathleen R. (Soares) Aubut.

Born in Fall River, son of the late Adrien J. and Lauretta B. (Neveu) Aubut, he had lived in Dartmouth for most of his life. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served his country in the United States Army, earning the Vietnam Service Medal and the Parachute Badge. Prior to his retirement in 2004, he was a welder for Electric Boat of N. Kingstown. Mr. Aubut loved saltwater fishing on his boat “Bobkat” An avid sports fan, especially baseball and football, he also enjoyed working on cars and playing on the computer.

Including his wife of 34 years, he is survived by 2 sons: Stephen Aubut of Swansea and James B. Maciel of Dartmouth; a daughter: Kathleen M. LaValley of Seekonk; a sister: Annette R.M. Allen of GA; 2 grandchildren: Jennifer S. LaValley and Alex J. LaValley; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at the Potter Funeral Home at 7:30 P.M.

Calling hours Wednesday 5 - 7:30 P.M. prior to the service.

Interment will be private.
