Obituary

Irene E. (Sickoll) Kossowski, 95, died Saturday February 3rd in the Royal Nursing Center of Falmouth after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Paul L. Kossowski.
Born and raised in Hanover, daughter of the late Frank and Charlotte (West) Sickoll, she attended Hanover schools and was a Hanover resident until 1943.

She then lived in Hanson for more than 46 years where she was a former director of the Council on Aging and member of the Housing Authority.

From 1989 till recently she was also a resident of North Easton where she was a member of the North Easton and Brockton AARP.

She was employed at National Fireworks in Hanover until 1965, then Dunnington’s Pharmacy in Hanson until 1971, and then worked at Hilliard’s Candy in North Easton until 1998.

Mrs. Sickoll was also the past president of the Hanover American Legion Ladies Auxilliary.

She is survived by her son; John E. Kossowski and his wife Anne of Mashpee, 5 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Paul F. Kossowski and sister of Gordon Sickoll of Brockton and the late Francis, Frederick, Harold, Edward, and Russell Sickoll.

Her funeral Mass will be on Wednesday February 7th in the St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1 Maquan Street, Route 14, Hanson at 12noon. Burial will follow in the Fern Hill Cemetery, High Street, Hanson. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday February 7th in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel,Inc Plymouth Street,Whitman,MA from 9:30 to 11:30AM.
