DRACUT-Jason “Jay” Robert Valkavitch, 22, a resident of Dracut, died from injuries sustained as a result of an automobile accident on Friday, February 2nd in Lowell.
He was born in Lowell on February 2, 1985, the son of Joseph P. Valkavitch of Lowell and Janice M. (Grande) Valkavitch of Saco, ME. He attended Lowell High School and obtained his GED through Middlesex Community College.
Jay was skilled at siding and roofing and took great pride in his work. He most recently worked for his good friend Shawn Dumont of Pelham, NH.
He loved to spend his free time with his son and he also enjoyed going fishing, especially with his Uncle Bill Parker.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son Jayden Scott Valkavitch and Jayden’s mother, Melissa Smart of Lawrence; two sisters, Amy Hawes and her husband Eric of Pelham, NH, and Evelyn Valkavitch of Lowell; his maternal grandmother, Estelle Grande of Dracut; his paternal grandmother, Alice Valkavitch of Lowell; his great grandmother, Annette Matte of Dracut; many aunts and uncles including Karen Bond of Springfield, VA; and many cousins.
He was also the grandson of the late Robert A. Grande and the late Joseph J. Valkavitch.
Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT on Tuesday from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 1:00 PM in Ste. Marguerite D’Youville Parish at Ste. Therese Church in Dracut. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Chelmsford.
