Mary Thomas Nicholas age 82, died at her residence in Lafayette County, MS on Saturday, February 3, 2007. She was a homemaker and member of Union West Baptist Church.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 5, 2007 and go until service time of 11:00 AM at Union West Baptist Church in Lafayette County. The service will be conducted by Rev. Derek Starnes and Bro. Charles Lipe. Serving as pallbearers are her grandsons, Randy Scrivner, Bryan Cooper, Philip Scrivner, Steven Scrivner and Will Nicholas. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM in Rome Cemetery, Rome, MS.
Survivors include her husband, Rev. Wesley “Jack” Nicholas of Oxford, MS; daughter, Sue Cooper of Gautier, MS; sons, Jerry ( Jerelyn ) Scrivner of Starkville, MS and John ( Sherry) Scrivner of Thibodaux, LA: 4 Step-Children; brothers, Charles ( Jean ) Thomas of Tutwiler, MS, James ( Arleen ) Thomas – Melbourne, FL, John ( Sherry ) Thomas of Winona, MS: sister, Evelyn (Lloyd ) McClellan of Houston, TX; 5 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, John Davis and Mary Watson Thomas; her sisters, Martha Sue Thomas and Ruth Kreis.
