Obituary

Cecil "Doc" S. Nunnery, 74, of Sumner, died Friday, February 2, 2007, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 5, 2007, at Omega Baptist Church. Rev. Jimmy Odum will officiate with burial to follow in Omega Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Donald Lutes Jr., Shannon Hornbuckle, Neil Sinclair,, Wayne Walker, Randall McBrayer and Bennie Shivers. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 4, 2007, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service.

Mr. Nunnery was born on June 26, 1932 in Leachville, Arkansas and was the son of Carlos Nunnery and Zoldie McCloud Nunnery, both deceased. He was a truck driver and of the Baptist faith. He was also a United States Army Korean War Veteran.

Mr. Nunnery is survived by his wife, Judith Ann Luke Nunnery of Sumner; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Anthony Nunnery of Sumner, Bobby and Jenny Nunnery of Crossville, Tennessee and Christopher and Donna Nunnery of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Regina and Andy Hornbuckle of Omega; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Rose Nunnery of Arizona and Frank and Linda Nunnery of Maryland; one sister, Carlene McGregor of Indiana; four grandchildren and their spouses, Morgan Walker and her husband, Wayne, Shannon Hornbuckel, Brittany Nunnery and Alisha Nunnery; and two great grandchildren, Emily Walker and Jake Walker.
