Obituary

Raleigh Moses "Bunchy" Tyson, Jr., 59, of Tifton, died Wednesday, January 31, 2007, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2007, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Joe Bateman and Rev. Al Lewis will officiate with burial to follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Ray Gene Sumner, Michael Hancock, Clay Miller, Dr. Rodney Tyson, David Tyson and Chip Drawdy. Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Trevelyan, Royce Reynolds, Chappy Tift, Robby Lindsey, Wayne Hiers, Rusty Crumpton and all Orgill truck drivers. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 2, 2007, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mr. Tyson was born on January 5, 1948 in Adel and was the son of Raleigh Moses Tyson, Sr., deceased, and Louise Hancock Tyson of Lenox. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lenox and a truck driver for Orgill, Inc. He was a United States Marine Corps Vietnam War veteran.

Mr. Tyson is survived by his wife, Carolyn Williams Tyson of Tifton; three sons, Todd Tyson of Valdosta, Jamie Tyson of Lenox and Dale Tyson of Valdosta; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Dennie Tyson of Lenox, Tommy and Debbie Tyson of Nashville, and Billy and Angela Tyson of Lenox; three sisters-in-law and their spouses, Darlene and Steve Landry of Ontario, Canada, Beth and Andre' Letourneau of Ontario, Canada, and Sharon and John Burns of Ontario, Canada; two grandchildren, Brooke Tyson and Christian Tyson; and several nieces and nephews
