Obituary

New Bedford - James F. Vincent, 76, of W. Wareham passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Eileen V. (Perry) Vincent.

Born in Acushnet, son of the late Manuel J. Vincent, Sr. and Ethel M. (Harrington) Vincent, he had lived in Acushnet from 1967 to 2004 prior to moving to W. Wareham. Prior to his retirement in 2000 he had worked as a laborer for Revere Copper and Brass of New Bedford and the former Chamberlain of New Bedford. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served his country in the United States Air Force. Mr. Vincent was a member of the Acushnet Wesley United Methodist Church, where he was a former sexton. He enjoyed carpentry work, gardening, traveling, going for walks, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family.

Including his wife, he is survived by 3 daughters: Linda M. Sylvia and her husband Ken of New Bedford, Barbara M. Conrad and her companion Paul Catulo of New Bedford and Sandra J. Staley of New Bedford; 4 brothers: Manuel J. Vincent, Jr. of New Bedford, Richard Vincent of CA, Robert B. Vincent of W. Wareham and Phillip W. Vincent of OK; 2 sisters: Bertha Peirce of Fairhaven and Shirley Battistelli of Mattapoisett; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was brother of the late Ronald Vincent, Kenneth L. Vincent, Sr. and Milton C. Vincent and was father-in-law of the late Carl Staley and Kenneth W. Conrad.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend:

Visiting hours Friday 5 - 8 P.M.

Funeral services Saturday at 11:00 A.M., at the Acushnet Wesley United Methodist Church, 67 Main St., Acushnet.

Burial will be private.
