WORCESTER-Dr. Alexe Andronic, 84, of Worcester, died Tuesday, January 30th, in his home. He leaves a brother, John Andronic of Worcester; a niece, Sandra, wife of Dr. Nicholas Mazanitis of Worcester; a nephew, Michael Andronic and his wife Lisa of Webster; grandnephews and grandnieces.
He was born in Romania, the son of Constantine and Lucia (Stanescu) Andronic and moved to the United States in 1965. He lived in Cranston, RI, for 25 years, before moving back to Worcester in 2004. Dr. Andronic served his internship at Fairlawn Hospital in Worcester and was a staff physician at Grafton State Hospital, Westborough State Hospital and Eleanor Slater Hospital in Cranston, retiring in 2002. He was a longtime member and benefactor of St. Nicholas Romanian Orthodox Church in Shrewsbury.
Calling hours are from 8:00 until 9:00 P.M. Friday, February 2nd, and 9:00 until 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 3rd, in St. Nicholas Romanian Orthodox Church, 34 Gold Street, Shrewsbury (stnicholaschurch.org). A funeral service will follow at 10:00 A.M. in the church. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Nicholas Romanian Orthodox Church, 34 Gold Street, Shrewsbury, MA 01545.
