Obituary

Gladys H. (Motley) Arnold, 92, of Medway, died, Monday, January 29, 2007 at the Harrington House in Walpole. She was the wife of Willard O. Arnold who died in 1966.

Born in Marshfield, Oregon on August 12, 1914, she was a daughter of the late John W. and Ermine (Shrewsbury) Motley. A resident of Medway for the past 9 years, she formerly resided in Sweet Home, Oregon and graduated from high school in Albany, Oregon.

A homemaker, since her daughter was born, she had owned a gas station in Sweet Home for many years with her late husband. She had also worked at the post office in Corvallis, Oregon. She was a member of the Non-Denominational Church.

She volunteered for the Red Cross blood drives in Sweet Home and also volunteered registering voters during elections. She loved to needlepoint, enjoyed crocheting and was a beautiful seamstress. An avid gardener, she was well known for her beautiful red geraniums.

She is survived by; her daughter, Siri Krishna Khalsa of Medway and two sisters, Dorris Bower of Hillsboro, Oregon and Mary Johnson of Tukwila, Washington. She was also the beloved grandmother of Hansmukh Kaur Khalsa and Harimander Singh Khalsa, both of Medway.

She was a sister of the late Evelyn Johnson and Virginia Lund.

Funeral services are private at the request of her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Medway Friends of Elders, 76 Oakland Street, Medway, MA 02053.
