Bertha G. (Moran) Vaughan, 91, of Haskell, NJ, formerly of New Bedford,Mass., died October 17, 2002 at Lakeland Healthcare Center in Haskell.
She was the wife of the late Malcolm H. Vaughan,and daughter of the late Edward and Amy (Chadwick) Moran.
Mrs. Vaughan was born in New Bedford and had lived in New Bedford for most of her life until moving away from the area in 1985. She then lived in Maine; Scituate, Mass.; Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She was a graduate of New Bedford High School.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Butler, NJ, and had been in several church choirs.
She was formerly employed as an inspector at the Acushnet Company for 11 years and was also an inspector at Cornell-Dubilier for 3 years, until her retirement.
Mrs. Vaughan enjoyed Senior Citizen activities at the YMCA and at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Andrews-Dahill Post 1531, both in New Bedford. She loved to travel.
Survivors include a son, Malcolm D. Vaughan of New Bedford; 2 daughters, Dorothy M. Morrison of West Chester, OH, and Joan M. Hiltz of Butler, NJ; a brother, Arthur Moran of Florida; a sister, Dorothy Wilbur of North Dartmouth, Mass.; 4 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Esther Souza and Edward V. Moran.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals 495 Park St. New Bedford, Tuesday, October 22, 2002, at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Acushnet Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, October 21, 2002, 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
