WILMINGTON - Richard G. Marquis, 53, a co-owner and Senior Executive for a NewHampshire restaurant chain, died Wednesday evening, Oct. 16, at the Community Hospice inMerrimack, NH. He was the husband of Carol (Clayton) Marquis, with whom he had celebrateda 26th wedding anniversary this past July 17th.

He was born in Lynn, April 6, 1949, a son of Erma (Dill) Marquis of Saugus and the late EugeneMarquis. He was raised in Saugus, and had lived in Toronto, Canada, before returning to the areain 1978. He had lived in Wilmington since 1978.

He graduated from Thayer Academy in Braintree, earned his BSBA at Princeton University, andMBA at Boston University.

He worked for H.P. Hood in Charlestown from 1979 until 1997, and for the last 5 years was co-owner of Blake’s Creamery, the operator of Blake’s Restaurants in central and southern NewHampshire.

Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by one son, Richard E. Marquis of Wilmington, onedaughter, Lauren M. Marquis of Wilmington, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Cheryl J. and JamesPeterson, Janice M. and David Savoie all of Saugus, and mother-in-law, Carol (Mason) Claytonof Melrose.

His funeral service was held Monday, Oct. 21, in the Wildwood Cemetery,Wilmington.
