Gustaf A. “Gus” Johnson of Dedham died January 21, 2007 at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. He was 86. He was the beloved husband of Beatrice A. (Doble) Johnson for 63 years.
Mr. Johnson was born in Belfast, ME and was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Burgess) Johnson. A World War II Veteran, serving in the United States Navy, he worked as an Engineer for Eastern Refractories of Belmont. He was a longtime Dedham resident. He was a member of the Norfolk Golf Club and a Town Meeting Member for 54 years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Pamela J. Reynolds and her husband Richard W. of Needham. He also leaves two grandsons, Seth B. Reynolds and his wife Sandra of Needham and Benjamin J. Reynolds of Las Vegas, NV and two great grandchildren, Sofia and Gustavo.
Funeral services will be held in the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, on Saturday at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours will be on Friday from 4-8 PM. Interment is private. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the charity of your choice.
