Obituary

Lawrence, MA – John J. Endyke, 83 yrs died Sunday at the Lawrence General Hospital.

Mr. Endyke was a l long resident of Lawrence and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and Bridgeton Academy in Maine.
John had formerly owned Endykes Package Store, Inc. in South Lawrence for many years.

During World War II he served his country in the United States Navy in both the European and Pacific Theatres prior to being honorably discharged at war’s end.

John was a communicant of Saint Patrick’s Church of Lawrence, and was a member of the British Club in Lawrence and according to his family loved all sports, especially golfing.

Survivors include his wife of 58 yrs Eileen P. (Dunlevy) Endyke, children Kathleen & husband James Herlihy of Cooper City, Florida, Jack Endyke & Maureen McLaughlin of Derry, NH, Michael & wife Pamela Endyke of Windham, NH, Joseph Endyke & wife Melanie Poulin of Derry, NH, Thomas & wife Debra Endyke of Litchfield, NH, and daughter Mary Beth & husband Eric Lisman of Sudbury, MA, 1 brother Francis Endyke of Lawrence, 2 sisters Rita Holak of Lawrence, and Louise & her husband Dr. Joseph Karas of Rhode Island, 14 grandchildren 3 greatgrandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
John was predeceased by his brother Walter Endyke.

A funeral mass will take place on Thursday morning at 11 o’clock in Saint Patrick’s Church of South Lawrence with burial to follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-8 P.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
