Obituary

Edna M. (Holbert) Kelly, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, died suddenly at her home on Wednesday January 17, 2007. She was 71 years old.

Edna was born in Tewksbury on February 1, 1935. She grew up in Charlestown, where she attended St. Mary's Parochial School and graduated from Cathedral High School in Boston. Edna has been dedicated to the medical profession in Charlestown, working as an office manager for Dr. Sokol for many years, then Dr. Ira Michaelson presently, helping the many families and individuals from Charlestown with comforting them during their office visits with their family physicians. Edna has also been very involved with the childeren of Charlestown especially the very young for many years, coordinating and being the Chairperson of the Bunker Hill Day Parade Doll Carriage Parade always held at the training field. She has been a member of Ward 2 Democratic Committee, The Old Charlestown Schoolgirls Association and The Kennedy Center of Charlestown.

Edna is the loving and devoted wife of Edward F. Kelly. She was the beloved mother of the late baby Francis Kelly. Edna is the beloved sister-in-law of William Kelly of Chelmsford, Vincent Kelly of Milton and the late Daniel and Kevin Kelly. She is the loving aunt of many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Edna's Funeral will be held on Monday, January 22, 2007, at 9 a.m. from the Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill Street, Charlestown, followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren Street, Charlestown, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours for Edna will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2007, from 2 to 8 p.m. Burial will take place at Milton Cemetery, Milton.
