Thomas J. Shaughnessy, 76, of Lake Dean, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Jan 17, at the home of his daughter and grandchildren.
Mr. Shaughnessy worked for the Department of Public Works, sewer dept. for 37 years, before retiring in 1991. He leaves his daughter, Karen Boudreau; four grandchildren, Christopher, Brett, Michael and Thomas Shaughnessy all of Warren; two great grandchildren, Briana and Christiana Shaughnessy of Oxford and several nephews and nieces and cousins. Two brothers, John and James Shaughnessy and two sisters, Eileen Muir and Mary Kane, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, the youngest son, of Michael L. and Delia T. (Loftus) Shaughnessy and he was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of St. Thomas A. Becket Parish in Barre.
The funeral will be held Monday, Jan. 22, from Callahan & Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester with a Mass at 11 AM in St. John's Church, 40 Temple St., Worcester. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. Visiting Hours are Sunday, Jan 21, from 1 to 4 PM at the funeral home.
