Obituary

Josephine M. Tomkiewicz, 91, of Saratoga Ave., Pawtucket, formerly of Woonsocket, died Sunday at Haven Health Center in Pawtucket. She was the wife of over 30 years to Rudolf J. Tomkiewicz. She was also the wife of the late Armand Laramee.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Giuseppe and Raphaele (Pierro) Calo. She was a resident of Pawtucket since 1976, coming form Woonsocket.
Mrs. Tomkiewicz was the co-owner of Armand’s Shoe Service on Front St. in Woonsocket for many years. She also worked as a spinner at the Woonsocket Worsted Co., and later as a packer for 10 years at Miller Electric before retiring.
She enjoyed polka dancing and loved being around horses.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Linda R. Desrosiers, of Florida, and two step-sons, Glen R. Tomkiewicz, of CA, and Roy G. Tomkiewicz, of Cumberland. She was the sister of Gurlamo Calo, of Dover, NH, and Antonio Calo, of Cranston, and the late Francis, Nicholas, Domenic, and Peter Calo, Joanne Kinash, Theresa Slinko, and Louise Loya. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be Thursday at 9:00 am from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in All Saints Church, Rathbun St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 5-8 pm.
