LOWELL – Stephen P. Ouellette, 51, a resident of Lowell died Saturday January 13th at his home. He was the husband of Katherine O’Dowd, to whom he was married for 10 years.
He was born in Lowell, June 1, 1955, son of the late George Z. and Rita E. (Trudel) Ouellette.
He was educated in Lowell schools and graduated from Lowell Trade School in 1973. He also graduated from Middlesex Community College with an associate’s degree in fire science.
Mr. Ouellette was a Lowell firefighter for 23 years until his retirement. He was also a master electrician and had worked as a school bus driver in the Methuen school district.
He was a member of the Dracut Lions Club International where he held many positions locally and regionally. Among these positions, he served as district governor from 2004 to 2005, had been serving on the Board of Directors for the Massachusetts Lions Eye Research Fund, and had been an advisor for the Dracut Leo’s Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons Michael S. Ouellette of Lowell, Matthew F. Ouellette of Lowell, and Matthew J. O’Dowd of Lowell, three brothers Dr. Richard G. Ouellette and his wife Dr. Glenda Ouellette of Nashua, NH, David L. Ouellette and his wife Katherine of Pelham, NH, and John R. Ouellette and his wife Donna of Mason, NH, a sister Anne Marie Marcella and her husband Walter J. of Nashua, NH, a mother-in-law Katherine T. O’Dowd of Lowell, his former wife Maureen T. Ouellette of Lowell, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and dear friends John and Ann Marie McCarthy of Lowell.
Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut, on Wednesday from 3:00 until 8:00 PM. His funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 10:30 AM.
