Madeline A. (Dupree) Taylor, 93, of Mansfield died on Sunday January 14, 2007 at the Epoch Senior Health care center in Norton surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Frederick P. Taylor who died on November 30, 1974.
Born in Boston, MA on May 3, 1913 she was a loving daughter of the late Joseph F. and Mary G. (Leavey) Dupree.
She grew up in Foxboro and was educated in Foxboro schools she was a 1933 graduate of Foxboro High School. After raising her family Mrs. Taylor worked as a Circulation Desk Clerk for the Mansfield Public Library for many years before retiring in 1978. After her retirement she continued to volunteer her time at the library.
Madeline was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield and was a former member of the Catholic Women’s Club at St. Mary’s Church. She enjoyed her role in helping to decorate and clean the Alter at St. Mary’s Church.
An avid reader she also enjoyed knitting, spending time around her home and baking. She had lived in Mansfield for the past 61 years and was formerly of Foxboro.
She is survived by her devoted daughters Nancy A. Riggott and her husband Kenneth of Middletown, Conn. and Kathleen M. Swanson and her husband Paul of Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Also surviving are her cherished 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren as well as her many nieces and nephews and friend Freckles. She was the beloved mother of the late Richard Taylor and the dear sister of the late Joseph Dupree, Ralph Dupree, Arthur Dupree, Vincent Dupree, Warren Dupree and Helen Griswold.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Wednesday January 17th at 8:00 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 9:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday January 16th from 3-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
