Obituary

SALEM- Amelia H. Jordan, 83, a lifelong resident of Salem, died Tuesday morning, December 4, 2001, in the Devereux House Nursing Home, Marblehead, following a long illness.

Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late John and Pauline (Schultz) Jordan.

Prior to her retirement in the late 1970's, she was employed for many years by the New England Telephone Co. at the St. Peter Street, Salem office.

Miss Jordan was a graduate of Salem High School and was a lifelong parishioner of the St John The Baptist Church.

She is survived by one sister, Helen T. Grocki of Salem, and three nephews, Lucian J. Grocki, Paul F. Grocki and John F. and his wife Cheryl Grocki, all of Salem. She was the sister of the late Genevieve Jordan.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001 at 9 am at the St John The Baptist Church, 28 St Peter Street, Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. Burial will be in St Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the New England Home for Little Wanderers, 68 Fargo St., Boston, MA 02210.
