Obituary

WORCESTER-George T. Trainor, 92, of Worcester, died Friday, January 12th in his home. His wife Mary Theresa (Brosnihan) Trainor died in 1991. He leaves 2 sons, Thomas G. and Stephen P. Trainor, 3 daughters, Theresa M. Trainor, Ellen M. Trainor and Kathleen M. wife of, John Hinson all of Worcester; a brother, Richard Trainor of Sandy, UT; 2 grandsons, Stephen C. and Christopher M. Hinson of Worcester; and many nephews and nieces. His son Joseph F. Trainor, 4 brothers, Edward, James, Paul, William and 2 sisters, Margaret and Frances Trainor predeceased him.

He was born in Worcester the son of Edward and Laura (Belisle) Trainor. Mr. Trainor was a World War 2 Army veteran serving as an MP and was awarded the Purple Heart. He had been employed by the City of Worcester Water Department as a meter repairman before retiring. Mr. Trainor was long time member of Our Lady of Angels Parish, Knights of Columbus, Alhambra Council 88, Worcester Democratic City Committee and Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 4; and enjoyed trips to Mohegan Sun, dancing and crossword puzzles.

The funeral is Wednesday, January 17th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Leicester. Calling hours are Tuesday, January 16th from 4:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
