Armstrong, of Bradenton, FL formerly of Plymouth, December 6th, Robert A. 93. Beloved husband for 60 years of Charlotte (Root) Armstrong. Father of Katherine Lind of Belmont, Robert A. Armstrong Jr. of Conway and the late Albert R. Armstrong. He also leaves 10 grandchildren. Services will be held during the summer at the Church of the Pilgrimage. Arrangements by the Richard Davis Funeral Homes of Plymouth and Manomet. Memorial contributions may be sent to Freedom Village Scholarship Fund, 6501 17th Ave. W. Bradenton, FL 34209. Employment: retired chemical engineer for Sharples Pennwalt in Philadelphia, PA
Military Info: Veteran US Navy WWII (where he met a “cute wave” whom he later married).
Memberships: Member of Manatee Masonic Lodge #31 F & AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Tampa, FL, Egypt Shrine Temple, Tampa, Sahib Shrine Temple Sarasota, Anna Maria High Twelve, Gulf Shrine Club, I.O.O.B., Manatee Symphony Assoc, Anna Maria Historical Society and Friend of the Library in Anna Maria.
In Residence: Bradenton, FL, Holmes Beach and Villanova, PA and had a cottage on College Pond in Plymouth where he spent many summers.
Other: He was a true gentleman, very optimistic in all ways, generous with himself, his time and had a very generous spirit and had a wonderful sense of humor.
Place of Death: Healthcare Center Freedom Village, Bradenton, FL Dec. 6, 2006.
