
Orman W. Paulk, 81, of Ocilla, died Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, January 11 at the Ocilla United Methodist Church, with Rev. Jim Osborn and Rev. John Gibbs, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Ocilla Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Wednesday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mr. Paulk was born August 20, 1925, in Irwin County to the late Lonnie and Estelle Mobley Paulk Freeman. He lived in Irwin County most all of his life and attended Ocilla High School. Mr. Paulk was a timber buyer for Del-Cook and worked for the Irwin County Road Department. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Ocilla United Methodist Church, church treasurer and president of the Methodist Men. Mr. Paulk was a member and director of the Ocilla Country Club.
Mr. Paulk is survived by his wife: Wilma Fleming Paulk of Ocilla; son and daughter-in-law: Ronald & Martha Paulk and grandchildren, Natalie and Chad Paulk, all of Waycross. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, D.J. “Jack” Freeman and a brother, James Kenneth Paulk.
Memorials may be sent to the Ocilla United Methodist Church, American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.
