Obituary

Nancy W. Adam, of Groton Long Point, passed away Monday, January 8, 2007 at her beloved home, “Snug Harbor”.

She was born in Hartford on March 25, 1927 the daughter of the late Frederick and Marjorie (Hall) Wahlberg. Her maternal grandparents were F. Louis and Julia Hall of Willimantic.

She was married to Kenneth L. Adam on June 25, 1949. He survives her.

Mrs. Adam enjoyed reminiscing about her childhood years growing up in West Hartford and Groton Long Point, especially during the war years. She talked about volunteering at the USO in Hartford and the “black-outs” at Groton Long Point. She had summered at Groton Long Point since 1927 and had made it her year-round home since the 1980’s.

Mrs. Adam enjoyed making her home a welcome place for friends and family. Over the years, she participated in garden clubs, bridge clubs, and was an active church member. She especially enjoyed her involvement with the Friends of the Noank Band.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Lane H. Adam of Campton, NH and her daughter, Deborah J. Adam of Groton Long Point; two grandchildren, Mariah L. Pfiffner and SN Wesley A. Pfiffner-USCG. They were lucky enough to have grown up next door to her and have many fond memories of her.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 15 Pearl Street, Mystic on Friday at 11am. Donations may be made to the Groton Long Point Women’s Club, c/o Barbara Judge, P.O.
